My new normal is really the same as before, except with a new ring to it. I’m still a cheerleader, I’m still a black belt. I still exercise almost every day. Epilepsy doesn’t drag me down. It lifts me up and tells me, “Keep on going, you can do it.

I practice self-care by making sure that I get enough sleep, I eat at the right times, and I tell my parents when I have absence seizures.

A big lesson someone could learn from my life is to do things for others, not for yourself, and you will feel much greater joy than going to a theme park.
