Helping Teens Navigate Epilepsy
with Confidence
E-SMART is a virtual, group-based program designed specifically for teens aged 13-17 with epilepsy. Facilitated by the Epilepsy Foundation Texas, E-SMART is here to equip you with essential self-management, self-advocacy, and resilience skills.

HOBSCOTCH: Strengthening Mind & Confidence
HOBSCOTCH (Home-Based Self-Management and Cognitive Training Changes Lives) is a free, evidence-based program designed to help adults build practical skills to manage cognitive challenges related to epilepsy.
Living with epilepsy can sometimes affect memory, focus, organization, and daily planning. HOBSCOTCH is a free, evidence-based program designed to help adults build practical skills to manage these cognitive challenges and improve overall quality of life.

Through eight weekly one-on-one virtual sessions, participants learn strategies to strengthen memory, improve organization, manage stress, and navigate the impact of epilepsy on everyday life.

Who Is Eligible?
Participants must:

Be 18 years of age or older

Have a primary diagnosis of epilepsy

Be able to read and write in English
-
Have access to a phone or computer for virtual sessions

Boosting Confidence and Well-being for Adults with Epilepsy
The PACES program helps adults living with epilepsy manage their condition and improve their overall well-being. It does this by teaching participants coping skills and goal-setting strategies to address medical issues, emotional challenges (like anxiety and depression), and social participation.

PACES (Program for Active Consumer Engagement in Self-Management) is a free, eight-week virtual group program designed to help adults build confidence and skills for managing epilepsy.
​
Through weekly Zoom sessions, participants explore topics such as medical self-management, stress and mood, cognitive challenges, communication, community living, and overall health and well-being.

Project UPLIFT Teaches Stress Management Strategies
Feeling overwhelmed by epilepsy? Project UPLIFT is a free, eight-week virtual group program designed to strengthen mental well-being and build practical coping skills.
Using mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques, participants learn strategies to manage stress, reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, reframe negative thinking, and improve overall quality of life.

Epilepsy Support Groups
Our epilepsy support groups provide a welcoming space to connect with others who understand the challenges, questions, and emotions that can come with an epilepsy diagnosis. Through shared experiences, encouragement, and conversation, participants find connection, understanding, and support that extends beyond medical care.
