Your privacy is important to the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas (the “Foundation”). We want to uphold the confidentiality of our clients to the best of our ability. By using the Foundation website, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. The Foundation reserves the right to make changes from time to time to our website technology and this privacy policy, and your continued use of our website shall be your agreement to these changes. This privacy policy identifies the ways we collect, use and protect personally identifiable information, as well as your options for accessing and correcting that information.

 

To this end, we will ensure the following:

  • Provisions of this policy apply to all staff, volunteers, independent contractors, and any other individual or organization employed by or associated with the Foundation. ]

  • We will never share your personal information with any organization, except to comply with the law. We will only ask for information that is pertinent to our services. Any information you disclose to the Foundation will be used for the purposes of providing and improving the quality of our services.

  • Individuals under the age of 18 do not have legal authority to use or disclose their personal information. Before using or disclosing personal information about an individual under the age of 18, we will obtain authorization from the individual’s parent or legally authorized representative.

  • If you believe or suspect that your personal information has not been maintained in accordance with this policy, immediately notify the Chief Financial Officer of the Foundation, at the Houston Office 1-888-548-9716.

  • Any violation of this policy can result in reprimand, loss of certain job or volunteer privileges, suspension, or expulsion from the Foundation’s programs, or termination.

  • We will maintain signed documentation for each person who gives us permission to use photographs and/or video on our website or any other Foundation social media platform.

Website Visitors

We use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about use of this site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to maintain and improve the site’s technical performance. Google Analytics collects the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of service, available at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/us.html, and the Google Privacy Policy, available at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.
