COVID-19 Response

As you know, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts on our community are changing constantly, sometimes by the hour. The Epilepsy Foundation Texas team has been engaged constantly in monitoring the situation and planning our response.

Even with uncertain times, the Epilepsy Foundation Texas stands with you and is here for you. We will be available by phone, email, and social media. We will look for ways to connect with you that may be different, but still meaningful. We do not know future holds, but you can be assured that no matter what, the Epilepsy Foundation Texas will hold true to our mission to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.

Please see below for the latest updates on our programs and services.

It is with a heavy heart we inform you that the Epilepsy Foundation Texas (EFTX) is suspending all in-person 2020 camping programs for the safety and well-being of our campers, counselors, and medical teams. Our team is working on creative ways in which virtual camp can offer the fun of camp: energizers, dance challenges, arts and crafts, and a whole lot more, all from the safety of home. As we develop virtual activities, we welcome any and all ideas you might have. Please email with any questions, comments, or concerns.

For Clinic Appointments:

We ask that if you are sick, sneezing or coughing please do not come in for the appointment. If you aren’t sure about this, please call the staff to discuss. If you want to reschedule an appointment due to the virus, that will be acceptable.

EFTX clinics are open and we’re taking extra steps every day to ensure the health and safety of our patients and staff. Due to the increase of COVID-19 cases, we are experiencing an increase in Telemedicine visits daily. At this time, we are also experiencing a higher than normal call volume. We are working hard to answer calls and respond to messages.

Thank you for your patience. For questions or concerns please feel free to call our clinic staff today. 713-789-6295 Ext 225.

Out of an abundance of caution and to maintain social distance, we will be cancelling all in person support groups until further notice. During this time we will be looking into different avenues to connect with you through other venues such as virtual meetings. Try out the forums and chat at Share good news and support each other on the Epilepsy Foundation Texas’ social media.

We hope to get back together in person soon. Be sure to look for communication from your support group leader.

This year’s Walk to END EPILEPSY in Tyler, Lubbock, The Woodlands, and El Paso are now VIRTUAL WALKS due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.

We will instead be kicking off National Epilepsy Awareness Month with Virtual Walks on Saturday, November 7, 2020. While we are disappointed we won’t be seeing you in person, we are excited to be hosting this Virtual Walk to END EPILEPSY – and we hope you are, too!
