COVID-19 Response

As you know, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts on our community are changing constantly, sometimes by the hour. The Epilepsy Foundation Texas team has been engaged constantly in monitoring the situation and planning our response.

Even with uncertain times, the Epilepsy Foundation Texas stands with you and is here for you. We will be available by phone, email, and social media. We will look for ways to connect with you that may be different, but still meaningful. We do not know future holds, but you can be assured that no matter what, the Epilepsy Foundation Texas will hold true to our mission to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.

Please see below for the latest updates on our programs and services.

It is with a heavy heart we inform you that the Epilepsy Foundation Texas (EFTX) is suspending all in-person 2020 summer camping programs for the safety and well-being of our campers, counselors and medical teams. Our team is working on creative ways in which virtual camp can offer the fun of camp: energizers, dance challenges, arts and crafts, and a whole lot more, all from the safety of home. As we develop virtual activities, we welcome any and all ideas you might have. Please email with any questions, comments, or concerns. Read full statement…

For Clinic Appointments:

We ask that if you are sick, sneezing or coughing please do not come in for the appointment. If you aren’t sure about this, please call the staff to discuss. If you want to reschedule an appointment due to the virus, that will be acceptable.

We have a full staff in the Houston office who are available to answer questions and to help with medication needs. In the event that we cannot get to the clinic, we will be able to answer calls and take care of medications remotely.

As of today, we plan on continuing our off site clinics. At the moment, the Beaumont, Lufkin, Grapevine and Fort Worth sites are open. Since this is such a rapidly evolving situation, we will communicate any changes with you through telephone or email. Read full statement…

Out of an abundance of caution and to maintain social distance, we will be cancelling all in person support groups until further notice. During this time we will be looking into different avenues to connect with you through other venues such as virtual meetings. Try out the forums and chat at Share good news and support each other on the Epilepsy Foundation Texas’ social media.

We hope to get back together in person starting in June. Be sure to look for communication from your support group leader.

This year’s Walk to END EPILEPSY in Houston, Fort Worth, Dallas, and Amarillo are now VIRTUAL WALKS due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.

We will instead be hosting a Virtual Walks on Sunday, June 7, 2020. While we are disappointed we won’t be seeing you in person, we are excited to be hosting this Virtual Walk to END EPILEPSY – and we hope you are, too!

At this time, our fall walks in Tyler and El Paso are NOT affected.
